Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu Trek is the combination of three different places journey towards central Himalayan range of Nepal to Syabru Bensi and all the way to Langtang than heading towards to Gosaikunda & Helambu region. Amazing views of Nepalese and Tibetan Himalayan ranges with beautiful charming villages, hospitable locals, unique Tibetan culture, tradition and wide diverse landscapes can easily attract several trekkers throughout the year. Gosainkunda means alpine fresh water, oligotrophic lakes. There are some other popular lakes nearby Gosainkunda such as Nagkunda, Suryakunda, Saraswotikunda and Bhairabkunda. Helambu is highland village and the home of Hyolmo which offers you a unique Hyolmo(Buddhism) culture of high mountain people.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal. At your arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Treks’ representative will be there to welcome you. The representative will help you to check in your hotel rooms. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your activities during the trip. In the evening you will be welcomed with a dinner in one of the typical Nepali restaurant with cultural programs. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu & Patan

After breakfast in the hotel, we do sightseeing around Kathmandu City. We start our day trip from Thamel, this is the famous tourist street of Kathmandu city. You can shop your needy equipments, then to the famous historical place Kathmandu Durbar Square along with tour of local market and local lifestyle of Nepal. And then we will be visiting Patan Durbar Square and living goddess of Nepal – KUMARI of Patan. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1550 m) (about 8 hrs)

After breakfast, enjoying Himalayan views we will take a drive to Syabrubesi. We will pass through Trishuli Bazar and Dunche before reaching to Syabrubesi. We can explore surrounding area at the evening. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2380 m) (6-7 hrs)

Passing through dense forest and crossing of several suspension bridges, we will reach to Lama Hotel. We were following Langtang River while heading for Lama Hotel and the trail leads up and down path. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430 m) (5-6 hrs)

The trail continues to climb steadily along the dense forest to Ghore Tabela. After reaching Ghore Tabela the trail leaves the forest and a magnificent view of Langtang Lirung appears. Leaving behind the forest our trail began with ascending Langtang village. Overnight in Langtang village.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3830 m) (4-5 hrs)

We will ascend gradally largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them behind and crosses small villages with wooden bridge. We will have a great view of Yansa Tsenji and Kimshun to the north and Langtang Himal to the north west before arriving at Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07: Hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Tserko Ri (5000 m) and Trek back to Lama Hotel (7-8 hrs)

We will wake up early in the morning and visit to Tserko Ri for superb mountain sunrise views. Then we will descend our way all the through forest following river and ethnic culture. We walk down hill till we won’t reach to Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 08: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (1900 m) (5-6 hrs)

Our trail passes through forest of bamboo and rhododendrons while heading towards Thulo Syabru. On the way we have a magnificient close view of Ganesh Himal then the trail goes easy downhills and follow the river bank. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

Day 09: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3330 m) (3-4 hrs)

Our trail ascends through forest of bamboo and rhododendrons while heading towards Sing Gompa. We will find a small monastery and a cheese factory in Sing Gompa. On the way, we will have a nice view of Langtang Himal and Langtang Valley. Overnight in Sing Gompa.

Day 10: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda (4460 m) (5-6 hrs)

Our trail leads to ascend through rhododendron forest and climb a wider path of alpine to arrive at Gosainkunda. There are three lakes in Gosaikunda ie. Saraswoti Kunda, Bharavi Kunda and Gosainkunda in which Gosainkunda is a main place of pilgrimage and have a religious importance of its own. We will explore the Gosainkund. Overnight in Gosainkunda.

Day 11: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte (3440 m) (6-7 hrs)

Our trail ascends through rough path and crosses moraines. We will cross Laurebina La and descends to Phedi. Then our trail leads up and down trek with rocky hills, pine and rhododendron forest until we will reach to Ghopte. Overnight in Ghopte.

Day 12: Trek from Ghopte to Tharepati (3690 m) (5-6 hrs)

From Ghopte our trail descend along the ridge through rohododendron and juniper forest. Then we will ascend to stream before reaching to Tharepati which is on the lap of mountain. Overnight in Tharepati.

Day 13: Trek from Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2560 m) (5-6 hrs)

We will climb to ridge above the village and enter through forested area. Then we will follow Melamchi River and ascends towards Melamchi Guan. We will continue our trail leading to the other side of the old and typical Sherpa village, Tarkeghyang. Overnight in Tarkeghyang.

Day 14: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Sermanthang (2610 m) (3-4 hrs)

The trail continues to the small beautiful village of Gangwal after crossing small forest behind the way. We will find a small monastery in Gangwal village and ahead towards another beautiful village named Sermanthang where people practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism as in Bhutan. Overnight in Sermanthang.

Day 15: Trek from Sermanthang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (3-4 hrs) and drive back to Kathmandu (about 3 hrs)

We take a short descend walk to Melamchi Pul Bazaar with many Sherpa villages and catch our vehicles to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 16:  Free day in Kathmandu

This day you will have free day on your own. In the evening, Himalayan Namobuddha Travel and Trek will take you for a farewell lunch or dinner in one of the finest restaurant in Kathmandu. Overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure from Kathmandu

Today is your departure day. Himalayan Namobuddha’s representative will drop you to Airport 3 hours before scheduled flight. It’s time to bid Nepal farewell visit and appreciate your visit to our country Nepal. Hopefully we shall meet again.
